Description

The course is intended to serve the needs to obtain a broad understanding of the cancer problem. The
lecture component will include an overview and perspective of both the scientific and clinical aspects of
cancer to understand the current advances made in dealing with the disease. Topics include: cancer
epidemiology, basic concepts of malignant process, modern advances in tumor biology and molecular
biology including the effects of a variety of agents that are known to cause human cancer. Examines
major types of cancer as well as present methods of cancer prevention and treatment.
