Description

A study of American cities and their suburbs from the colonial period to the present. Growth patterns, immigration, social, ethnic, and racial contours, economic and technological factors, architecture, politics, reform movements, religion, urban planning, and the art and architecture spawned by cities and suburbs are examined.
