Description

Special Education student teaching provides qualified students with a 7 week teaching experience in a 7-12 inclusive or spe-cial education classroom setting. The student teacher will work under the guidance of a mentor teacher and the college su-pervisor. It is expected that students will integrate and apply the knowledge, skills, and dispositions gained in Education courses to the design and implementation of effective instruction and assessment. Students will spend each day of the 7 week experience at the school site. Performance-based assignments are linked to PDE field competencies and evidenced in students? portfolio completion. Students must have current PA clearances to begin the student teaching experience. Co-Requisites: EDSP 629. Prerequisites: Completion of coursework in Education: approval of the Department: an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. (New Course Fall 2014.)
