Description

This course is an introduction to data analytics which draws on the principles of “data science.” We will learn the conceptual frameworks of data, how to collect and “clean” data, and how to analyze and draw conclusions. In doing so, we will be introduced to various computer platforms such as MS Excel, Python, MySQL, R, MS Power BI, and Tableau. DATA101 is introductory and designed for one to have limited or no technical skills in computing or math. It’s intended for the student to develop a curiosity to how data works and why it matters for your careers, your lives, and humanity at large. This course fulfills a requirement for the Bachelor of Science in Data Science, Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics, and the Minor in Data Studies for Social Good (DSSG).
