Description

This course will cover advanced topics in web programming, such as AJAX and JQuery. Students will demonstrate an understanding of how AJAX may be used to asynchronously update a web page by creating AJAX scripts. They will learn how to integrate AJAX with XML and PHP for purposes of asynchronously updating web pages. Students will demonstrate an understanding of how PHP is used to perform server side functions like uploading files, sending emails and managing cookies and sessions. They will learn how JQuery may be used to simplify tasks, such as HTML document traversing, event handling, animating, and writing less code. Prerequisite: Grade of C- or better in CMTC 295.
