Description

An introductory course for non-science majors who have little or no background in chemistry and minimal mathematical background. Topics covered include measurements, classification of matter, bonding, reaction chemistry, solutions, energy, and power. The goal is to cultivate scientific literacy, enabling students to learn chemistry in the context of their own lives, and address significant issues, such as climate change and plastic pollution, alternate fuels, nutrition, and genetic engineering eill be discussed.
