Provides an introduction to the psychosocial assessment and psychological treatment of children. It addresses topics such as the unique challenges that are involved in working with children, major psychological disorders that children experience, and theoretical and empirical approaches to child assessment and treatment. It includes didactic (reading, discussion) and experiential learning (exercises, role plays) to promote both conceptual and practical knowledge of the assessment and treatment of children?s social, emotional, cultural, behavioral, and psychological needs.
