Description

This course is designed for students to learn basic concepts and techniques in functional behavior assessment (FBA) and crisis intervention, with a particular emphasis on working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other serious emotional and behavioral disorders. By the end of this course, students will demonstrate competence in conducting FBAs, developing positive behavior support plans based on FBA data, measuring behavioral progress, data collection and analysis, identifying potential crisis situations that may occur, and proactively developing crisis intervention plans. This course is re-quired for students in the autism spectrum disorders concentration within the Master?s program in clinical and counseling psychology (Prerequisite: PSYG 652).
