Adv Couple/Family Therapy Tech (PSYG 616)

Uses family role-play to examine the therapeutic techniques best suited to the situations presented by that family. Each student will be videotaped in the role of therapist for a role-play family. The student???s therapeutic style and skill will be critiqued by the class and instructor. Students will also role-play a family member for an extended period in order to understand the experience of being a client. Didactic lectures will cover advanced techniques with stepfamilies, child-problem families, and families with addiction. Pre-requisites: PSYG-608, -612, and -614. (Formerly GRCP-616.)
