Description
The course familiarizes students with the history and development of
professional ethics and standards and their legal implications in the areas of
counseling and psychotherapy. Students will be required to become familiar with
the APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct as well as
ethical standards formulated by other professional associations. Topics covered
include: privileged communication, confidentiality, rights of client and agency,
civil commitment, licensure, and mental health laws. Prerequisites: GRCP 500
