Description

The Independent study format gives students an opportunity to develop critical thinking and individual initiative through planned scholarly endeavor. Under the guidance of a faculty sponsor the student will investigate an area of interest related to the student's course of study and to his/her teaching situation. The student will work under the guidance of a faculty member and with the permission of the Department Chair. The interested student must produce a project, paper, or piece of research demonstrating ability to pursue an independent academic endeavor as well as competence in researching, organiz-ing and presenting information.
