Description

Student Teaching placements are 14 weeks. Candidates may have two 7-week placements or one 14-week placement. Candidates will spend each day of the 14-week semester at the school site. The student teaching placement will be at a different grade level than field experience Stage 3 and at least one placement will be inclusive. Cooperating teachers must be certified and have at least three years teaching experience. It is expected that students will integrate and apply the knowledge, skills, and dispositions gained in Education courses to design and implement effective instruction and assessment. With the guidance of their cooperating teacher and university supervisor, candidates gradually assume teaching responsibilities culminating in full responsibility teaching see attached Student Teaching Handbook (Attachment C) Candidates that are adding on special education, have an intern or emergency certification with permission from their administration are able to student teacher in their cla
