Description

In this course students identify resources and techniques used across all transition points to allow for the effective transition of students with disabilities. Students will investigate the characteristics of young children with disabilities in how to determine early diagnosis and how to access appropriate services while working with families, local community agencies. and resources. Course will include analysis and interpretation of assessment data in order to develop and implement an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP). In addition, students examine key aspects associated with Indicator 13 Secondary Transition Services. Course study includes factors associated with implementation of activities and services for students ages 14-21 and writing coordinated, measurable, annual Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals that will enable students ages 14 and above to meet their postsecondary outcomes.
