Description

Encompasses a semester of student teaching in a selected public or private early education (PreK) to grade 4 school. Students teaching in daycare or another preK setting need to spend a minimum of four weeks in a 1st- 4th grade classroom setting. Student teaching is under the direct supervision of the cooperating teacher and college supervisor. Student teachers participate in a weekly student teaching seminar at the College to correlate general skills and principles of teaching and learning with field experience. Seminar discussions include reflection, identification and analysis of problems facing student teachers. Prerequisite: Completion of coursework in education and approval of major department and education department. Co-Requisite: EDP4-601. (New course Fall 2012.)
