Description

This course is the second part of a two-semester sequence during which students examine human anatomy and physiology through a systems approach based on the interaction between form and function, from the microscopic components of tissues to the organismal level. Designed to be the sequel to BIOL-203, this course covers the endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems, nutrition, fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balance, and growth and development. Students will apply the principles of the scientific method to explain anatomical and physiological concepts. Clinical considerations and unifying themes, such as homeostasis, will be emphasized throughout both semesters. Core: Natural Sciences with Lab requirement. Corequisite: BIOL303L.
